Learning & Development Manager – Adult’s and Children’s Social Care

Learning and Development provides exemplary training as an accredited body for over 30,000 learners across the public, voluntary and independent sector. Our team comprises of qualified specialists with the focus and drive to deliver expert learning through a range of disciplines, teaching styles and approaches.
As part of an exciting new opportunity to shape and develop the Adult’s and Children’s Social Care workforce we are looking to expand our professional team and are looking for a passionate L&D professional who will be able to deliver improved outcomes for people and communities.
In the role of Learning and Development Manager you will work closely with Northamptonshire County Council and other local councils as we prepare to move into North and West Unitary Council structures in April 2021, to ensure their services are responsive, effective and financially self-sufficient. It is exciting and challenging times for all Councils as they respond to unprecedented levels of change. This is the drive for why are seeking to appoint a CIPD qualified Learning & Development Manager or Social Work Professional with strong learning and development experience who is able to work hard and rise to these challenges as well as be flexible in their approach.
Reporting to the Interim Head of Learning and Development/ Senior Adults and Children’s Development Manager the role will focus on the development and delivery of learning interventions to support and equip the workforce of the Adult’s and Children’s Social Care Services for the journey ahead. You will manage a team of professional colleagues who will be responsible for commissioning and in house delivery of training, apprenticeships and qualifications.
You will have a solid social care background or substantial experience and have worked in a Learning & Development management role with proven experience of working in partnership with internal or external customers to implement programmes of learning and development in order to improve the skills, competence and confidence of the workforce. You will be a strong leader with a collaborative approach whilst also being agile and innovative in meeting service requirements in partnership with stakeholders and customers.
This is a full time position but part-time/job share will be considered.
