This post will initially be based at One Angel Square but will permanently move to the North of the county later in the year


Lead Principal Social Worker

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a Lead Principal Social Worker to join an exciting and dynamic Senior Leadership Team in the new North Northamptonshire Council. We are seeking an inspirational leader, someone highly motivated, organised, passionate about Social Work with a strong ability to lead the social care workforce to develop and embed best practice and new ways of working.

As the Lead Principal Social Worker you will provide professional leadership, advice, guidance and development for social work and social care across the department. You will also oversee quality assurance and improvement of social work practice

The role is to act as the Principal Social Worker as defined within the Care Act 2014, you will also have Operational Management responsibility for the Approved Mental Health Practitioner service and to work closely with the Assurance function of the service. You will work alongside other service managers across social care, health, and other partner agencies to deliver high quality people lead services.

The role will give you the opportunity to use your leadership skills to influence the strategic development and delivery of high quality, evidence based interventions for people in North Northamptonshire.
All staff receive regular supervision and access to a variety of CPD sessions
Experience in leadership is essential.

Access to car or ability to travel between county-wide locations is essential.
