Public Health Insight and Intelligence Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Northamptonshire Public Health. We are seeking to recruit a Public Health Insight and Intelligence Manager to lead the Public Health Intelligence function. As a senior member of the Public Health Team, you will work with the leadership team to drive developments in intelligence, proactively identifying and leading initiatives across the department and partner agencies.

You will have significant experience in public health analysis, with expert knowledge of public health data sets and the epidemiological and statistical techniques required to translate data into the intelligence needed for evidence-based decision making. You will be familiar with specialist software such as R and programming language such as SQL and have used these to analyse large, complex datasets. You will also have excellent working knowledge of Power BI and GIS systems.

Partnership working is an essential part of this role, and you will identify opportunities to work across the councils and with external partners to provide the intelligence required to inform policy and strategy. You will have experience of working with senior leaders across systems, and will use your knowledge of public health policy and intelligence to tailor tools and products. You will be proactive in identifying best practice and use this to continuously improve the public health intelligence function in Northamptonshire.

This role involves management of the Public Health Intelligence team, and oversight of a programme of work that includes submission of statutory returns, development of the JSNA, performance reports and deep dives in priority areas. You will work with the Consultant in Public Health, Directors of Public Health and the Senior Leadership Team to shape the work of the team, ensuring delivery of a high quality and responsive service. We are committed to providing opportunities for continuous development and sharing learning for this role and the Public Health Intelligence team.
